Codess Microsoft Professional Program Scholar

I was selected as one of 18 global recipients of the first Codess Microsoft Professional Program Sponsorship and was awarded a full scholarship to complete the 6 month Data Science Professional Program (which I completed within 2 weeks). Research Spotlight Finalist

I was shortlisted as one of the finalists for the BCS London Hopper Research Spotlight Competition. More details of which can be found here.

Best Presentation Award

I was awarded the best presentation for my work entitled "Extracting Social Structure from Dark Web Forum Metadata" during the third Oxbridge Women in CS Conference. The departmental article can be seen here.

Best Paper Award

My paper entitled "Extracting Social Structure from Dark Web Forum Metadata" (which can be found here) was awarded the best paper at the "Fifth International Conference on Social Media Technologies, Communication, and Informatics" (SOTICS '15). The award can be seen here.

ACM Student Research Competition Finalist

I have been successfully chosen as one of only 27 posters globally selected as part of the ACM Student Research Competition Final to be held at the Grace Hopper Conference in Texas in October 2015. The abstract for my poster can be found here along with the abstracts for the other finalists.

Grace Hopper Conference Scholar

I have been awarded a full scholarship to attend the Grace Hopper Conference in Houston, Texas from October 14th - 16th 2015. At this conference, I will also be moderating a panel on supporting and creating a women in computing society at university as well as entering the poster competition. U.S. Embassy "Future Cyber Leader" exchange program participant - International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP)

In June 2015, I was selected as the only students along with 9 UK government officials selected to participate in a US government sponsored exchange program focusing on Cyber Security in September 2015. This was a Cyber Security focused program as part of the prestigious IVLP programme run by the U.S. Department of State which has hosted over 300 previous heads of states (more information can be found here). The program was designed for participants to learn about U.S. efforts to protect digital infrastructure and to ensure the free flow of information, the security and privacy of data, and the integrity of the networks. The program included meeting with U.S. government officials working on cyber policy from a wide range of organizations as well as non-governmental cyber experts, private sector representatives, and academia across the United States.

Blakchat and EWF scholar

In August 2015, I was awarded a scholarship to attend the prestigious BlackHat Conference and an EWF scholarship to attend the prestigious conference in Las Vegas. The news article surrounding the scholarship award can be found here.

GREPSEC II & Security and Privacy Scholar

In May 2015, I was selected as one of two international scholars accepted to participate in the GREPSEC II workshop. The NSF and CRA-W/CDC sponsored workshop was designed as an informal way of creating a network of female cyber security researchers. It is organised as a pre-workshop for the main IEEE Security and Privacy conference. I was also awarded a travel scholarship to attend the main conference itself.

WICYS Scholarship

I was successfully awarded a scholarship to attend the WICYS Conference as the only international student. As part of the conference, I was also accepted into the poster competition and was also selected as a presenter.

Canada-UK Colloquium Student Representative

In November 2014, I was selected as one of only two students to form the UK delegated for the Canada-UK Colloquium focusing on Cyber Security alongside policy makers, ministers, industry professionals and senior academics to help design Canada and the UK’s latest Cyber Security. MPLS Outreach Award

In recognition of my commmitment to increasing the number of women in STEM related subjects and my role as a Widening Participation Mentor, Computer Science Ambassador and a STEM ambassador, I was awarded one of the university's first awards aimed at rewarding dedicated individuals who help introduce a new generation of women to STEM subjects.

Google Women in Tech Travel Grant

In May 2014, I was successful in securing one of three travel scholarships from Europe, the Middle East and Asia to attend the "Hack in the Box" Conference in Amsterdam from 29-30 May 2014. The prize included an all expenses paid trip to the conference in addition to private networking events with Facebook and Google.

High Sheriff Award

In 2008, after my teaching success with Dyfed & Glamorgan ACF, I won the high sherriff award. This was one of only 3 awards for under 25s across the two counties and was awarded in recognition of my achievements within the ACF as well as my instructional ability gained after completing numerous teaching and leadership courses.

London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) Finalist

In June 2008, after completing 3 grade 8 exams in 18 months, I was successful in being placed one of the top 5 public speakers in the UK (see article online here). In the final competition in October 2014, I came second in the UK and had my certificate presented by Actress Michelle Collins. My success story led to me being invited to form one of the 5 students across the UK chosen to create the new publication material for potential students.

National Cambridge Union Debating Semi-finalist

In September 2007, along with a fellow student at St Michael's School, we competed in the Cambridge Union Debating Competition. Despite only recently beginning formal training, we were successful in competing our way into the semi-finals where we were narrowly beaten by Cheltenham Ladies College.
